What
Bill Douglas likes to do and has done yet again on his new
CD album Eternity's Sunrise is to take classical poets,
such as Shakespeare, Tennyson or Emily Dickinson, and create
choral arrangements to accompany them. Not only does Douglas
compose this music, but he also plays piano, synthesizers
and bassoon. The choral group that sings on Eternity's
Sunrise is called the Ars Nova Singers, and they are conducted
by Thomas Morgan.
Some music, by its nature, is earth music
reaching up for the heavens. Eternity's Sunrise is
angelic music reaching down to grace earth. Bill Douglas creates
elegant compositions with the use of traditional classical
instruments such as violin, oboe, cello and flutes. His use
of harmonies with the human voice points towards some ineffable
transcendent truth that must be heard to be understood. Quite
simply, it is angelic.
Eternity's Sunrise is a spiritually
inspiring and emotionally nourishing CD album for those who
enjoy classical music. It is a collection of fourteen of Bill's
most popular compositions that are taken from six of his previous
Hearts of Space CD albums.
This album CD can be ordered from: Hearts
of Space, One Harbor Dr., #201, Sausalito, CA 94965.
