Evolution - The Best of EKOThe CD album Evolution is a compilation from ten years and four albums of music by EKO (which means "one" in Sanskrit). This music would probably fall under the general heading of World Music traditions, as there are aspects of Alternative Folk, Pop, New Age, Cajun, Irish, Caribbean and Reggae styles. This is basically John O'Connor's work, and his nimble guitar playing is the nucleus around which the arrangements revolve. In going back through his archives, O'Connor re-mixed 95% of the tracks on Evolution and added three new songs. There are a total of sixteen songs on this CD.

This music is light-hearted, joyful and just plain fun to listen to. It consistently carries a sense of easygoing, "don't worry, be happy" feelings. Evolution is great music to set the tone for your day if you start your morning with music. Or if you have a touch of rainy-day melancholy nipping at your heels, EKO has got just the touch of sunshine to brighten your day.

This CD album can be ordered from Higher Octave Music, 23852 Pacific Coast Hwy., Malibu, CA 90265.
