Dance of LifeXumantra is Marco Dolc, and Dance of Life is his fourth album CD. Marco studies sacred sound as a part of his spiritual evolution. His music is created from the instruments of sacred music from around the world, such as Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, percussion and various stringed instruments. Dance of Life is a playful celebration of joy-filled life. Marco is an absolute master of the marimba and, through it, his music is laughter. Because the drumming and percussion are so prominent, this album CD would probably fall under the heading of "world music," although through Erick Lawrence's superb flute playing it definitely leans towards jazz. It is really quite interesting to hear a blend of jazz and Native American music on the song "Medicine Bird." This music is mostly mellow melodies dancing over the top of tightly woven rhythms. Dance of Life can be ordered from First Light Music at 23114 Middlebank Dr., Newhall, CA.
