 The
CD album Angels and Mermaids by Renee Smith MD is a
collection of 10 songs for young children and their parents,
or the inner child within each of us. Renee Smith is a mother,
musician, composer, poet and psychiatrist. It is obvious in
listening to this music that Renee has a deep love for children
and a healthy inner child herself. With her sweet clear voice,
she sings from the true heart of innocence and sincerity to
heal and affirm the magic of childhood. She accompanies herself
mostly on piano with a kind of folk ballad and lullaby mix
to moderate tempos.
Although this is a really excellent album
of music, there is a reservation on my recommendation for
the general public's listening and that is, this album is
primarily for children and families. So, if you have children
in the age range of 3 to 11 years old, Renee's Angels and
Mermaids will be a fun, playful and delightfully entertaining
album. The songs will be easily learned "sing along"
songs that will brighten and nourish every growing child.
