This book reminds me of a common warning given to sales associates - analysis leads to paralysis. Stone reminds the reader again and again not to get caught up in the intellectual analysis of meditation techniques but to simply find the technique that is comfortable for you and then to diligently practice it. Do not crow about it, do not evangelize, just practice. This slim volume, beautifully presented, offers concise, clear information and instructions on meditation traditions from Ajapa to Zazen. Stone explains how to incorporate meditation into your daily life and how to move from awareness to attention, and offers a complete glossary of terms used throughout the book. I highly recommend this book as a great beginner's how-to text!
