The Body/Mind Health Corner™

Dear Steven,

I am 45 years old. I’m happily married and my last kid just moved out of the house. About 4 years ago I developed Hemorrhoids. My wife was making more money at her job, so I went down to part-time at mine. Things were going pretty good, but then the stock market crashed and we “lost” a lot of our savings, some of which we were relying on for monthly income. We are getting by, and making up the income slowly. Also, at that time my father was getting a hip replacement, and my daughter had her first child. Generally things were going fine, and even now, things are getting better than expected. We are moving into a less expensive, but comfortable, home, cutting our expenses, and increasing our income. Our next grandchild is due soon, and our other daughter got married.

I had one operation for my Hemorrhoids a few years back, but that only worked for a little while. It’s turning into an ongoing problem. I’ve done sitz baths, toe touches, hemorrhoid ointment, and visualizations, but all these things seem temporary.

Tired of having a pain in the butt,
Charles, Newport News, VA

Dear Charles,

Hemorrhoids, being a swelling of the tissue around the
rectum, may hurt if you move too much, sit too much, or release what you no longer need. If you release the past too much, you will need to go for the future. If you sit on your butt and do nothing toward your future, it hurts. If you act on it too much, it hurts. Hemorrhoids are a result of a fear of the future. Forget about “recapturing” the past. We can never have things the way they were. Things will always be different – worse or better – but never the same. You can’t hold on to the past and try to
re-manifest the stuff you lost. Nor should you expect to create the same“mistakes” in the future. A quote from Gerald Jampolsky’s book, Love Is Letting Go Of Fear, comes to mind. “Fear Forward!”

Positive Thought To Manifest: I trust my decisions and my response-ability, now and in the future.

There are no mistakes. Only learning experiences,

Steve
