Diabetes · Retina Detachment
Dear Steven,
I am on a list with some pretty aware people one of whom has acquired diabetes. I have been searching for metaphysical causation to share with her, but have had no luck. Do you know where I can find such information? Do you have any thoughts?
~ Thanks, Christine
Dear Christine,
There are several different types of Diabetes, however, the majority of people have a similar mental and emotional stressor – not giving self permission to experience joy in life. The person often gives them permission to express joy but not to experience it fully. This is not just happiness I am referring to, but rather a deep, sensual, joy. Somewhere, past or present, the person has adopted an injunction against truly loving self and others.
The person tries to experience joy through success or what the picture of success might be within relationships, work, career and social life. However, the injunction is still there against truly enjoying these things. This could be a result of childhood experiences of shame or guilt when truly enjoying him or herself. In adulthood the person may try to overcompensate by being outgoing, successful, and optimistic with a “pretense”, that he does not even know he has, of being happy. However, looking deeper, we can see an underlying sadness.
In addition to diet, exercise, and other medical advice that may be given by a medical practitioner, I recommend any and all “peak Spiritual experiences” that would bring more life and Spirit into the body. These would include Tai Chi, Yoga, Dance, Breathing and Pranayama Exercises, Sweatlodges – basically anything that would “bring Spirit home.” Sensual practices are also encouraged – dance, sex (with love would be best), aroma therapy, hot tubs, massages, singing, spicy food, listening to or playing music – basically anything that would awaken the senses.
Positive Thought To Manifest: I safely experience joy in my life. I attract and accept the perfect support for that more easily and more successfully all the time.
Keep Dancing,
Steve
Dear Steve:
I had two retina detachments in the right eye in the last year. The doctors say I will never recover proper vision due that I don't have cones, rods and retina in the eye. To my affirmation that I will regain normal good vision the answer was: “No way. You don't have nerve cells from where to create anything at all!” Should I accept this verdict or continue healing myself with positive thinking and visualization?
Many thanks.
Manena Cardemil
Dear Manena,
I am a bit fanatical in that I do not feel anything is irreversible. Things can at least get better. Even nerves have been shown to find alternate routes to their destination. The right eye deals with seeing the physical/material world. You might be “detaching” yourself from what you see. The environment is a manifestation of thought. I recommend interpreting your everyday life like a dream. Interpret the symbology and apply it to your thoughts. We can then reprogram the thoughts to better the environment. What is it within the last year and a half that you have felt, and then possibly detached yourself from? Have you ignored your own perceptions about a certain situation? Have you gotten the same feedback about a situation from several people, and then “detached” yourself from it? If, own it.
Because there is insufficient history and information about your life within the last year and a half, I will diagnose it energetically. The energy centers that need to open up are the Navel and the Crown. Positive thoughts respectively are, “I am the authority in my life,” and “I am filled with the perfection of Spirit.” The energy from those centers needs to be channeled through the right arm which opens with “I love and support others.” The minor energy centers along the way to open are the elbow and wrist, respectively “In the perfect form,” and “I acknowledge others’ viewpoints.” Putting this all together…
You have a lot of love and support to offer to others. YOU decide the form in which it feels good to offer that love and support. And it is up to others whether or not they accept that love and support. Just because someone hasn't accepted the support that you have offered, does not mean you haven't given it. Just because others have not accepted your strengths, does not mean you are not strong.
Positive Thought To Manifest: I am a perfect being of Spirit. I give love and support in the perfect form for me. And I ALLOW others to accept that love and support in the perfect form for them.
See if there is a negative response – anything that negates the positive thought. Repeat the positive thought several times with feeling. Then see what the opposite of that positive thought is, either from the past or present. Release the emotional attachment to the negative, and re-attach the feelings to the positive.
Seeing clearly is sometimes an exercise of the heart,
Steve
