Astrological Forecast

In the months of April and May, the Sun will be transiting through the signs of Aries and Taurus. The energy of these two months will be very active. The focus will be on new ideas, new social contacts and interactions, and new financial goals. We must all pay attention, however, for it is also a time when there can be numerous mental distractions and a general lack of focus.

Venus spends April and May in the sign of Aries. In many ways this is not a good mix. Since the energy of Aries is very direct and forward, this aspect can cause directness to the point of being rude in social situations. Aries has no hesitation in pursuing the object of its desire so watch out for overly forward people. There can also be a danger during this period of becoming too self-centered. Remember to acknowledge yourself and your qualities, but do it in your own time and space. This is not a period to blow your own horn. You can accomplish a lot more by reaching out to others with the love energy of Venus.

The warrior planet Mars spends the next two months in the sign of Sagittarius. This means that both of the relationship planets, Venus and Mars, will be in fire signs. Look for lots of new and unique people crossing your path over these two months. Don't play the hermit! This is a perfect period to socialize and encounter new ideas and relationships. Mars in Sagittarius tends to activate religious and philosophical ideas and convictions. Expect an increase in people seeking out spiritual teach.ings during this period. Spiritual groups will also be reaching out during this time to present their views and beliefs. The themes of spiritual brotherhood are very prominent now.

Jupiter is in Gemini during the Spring months. Since Jupiter is the planet of expansion and growth, its position gives us clues to the issues that will be important during this time. Jupiter in Gemini concerns itself with changes and growth in the areas of education, social ideas, and communications. Our new president could certainly use this time to advance his ideas of educational reform and change. On a personal level, those of you thinking about going back to school will find this a perfect time. Even if it's only putting the process into motion. Apply for grants or loans and consider starting school in the Summer if necessary.

Saturn spends half of April in Taurus and then moves into Gemini for the rest of the month and all of May. Since the banking system is ruled by Taurus, we may see a change in world finances. Look for the stock market to continue its up and down lack of consistency. Saturn in Gemini can cause frustration in relation to long-term goals and can also create barriers. Another down side of this aspect is mental distraction. Many people will find themselves interested in numerous subjects but lack any real focus. On the positive side Saturn in Gemini can help bring ideas into manifestation. Although it may seem like a contradiction, we all just need to remember to pinpoint our goals and focus our energy on specific areas of life. Saturn can be a destroyer, but it can also help create.

Uranus and Neptune are still moving through the sign of Aquarius. Uranus will go retrograde at the end of May, so right now it's making a final push forward. Many people will be relocating during this period, mainly for quality-of-life-related reasons. We'll see continued advances in the fields of science. Look for new ideas and growth in astronomy and related fields, computer technology and medical sciences. On a personal level, many people will find that their own intuitive abilities are becoming sharper and stronger.

Spring may get off to a sluggish start with temperatures continuing to roller coaster for the first couple weeks of April. Watch for storms in the early part of the month and some tornado activity during the middle to end of the month. Unfortunately, the Seattle earthquake was only a warning of more earth changes to come. There is a strong potential from some major tremors or a quake on the West coast in early May. Listen to spirit and know when you're being called to safety.

On an international level, rumblings in the Middle East will continue, and there is a strong potential for major hostilities to break out between April and July. Prayers for peace are especially important during these months.

Remember that the energy of Spring is awakening and rebirth. Just as the earth and its creatures awake, so do our own creative energies. This is a time to focus past the mental confusion that may be present and look to long-term plans. It is a time to rekindle that dream that has been lying dormant during the long winter and realize that we can each accomplish whatever we desire. Focus yourself and listen to the call of your spirit!
