Astrological Forecast

Wow! Talk about a shift in energy. The active fiery energy of the last few months is now changing to a calmer more thoughtful period with the months of August and September. While the first half of 2001 was geared more towards physical activity and ideas, the importance of the rest of the year is in the areas of business and education. Expect to feel more energy channeling into your professional ambitions and goals. Those owning their own businesses will feel the need to expand and push for more recognition.

The Sun is in Leo until the 24th of August when it enters Virgo. Virgo is a calming energy but also compulsive. Know any neat-freaks? They're probably Virgos or have a strong Virgo aspect in their charts. This energy will also contribute to the general urge to "get organized."

It's time to stop thinking about what "should be done." Now is the time to put your ideas into solid form.

Mercury travels from Leo into Virgo and then into Libra. Lots of activity for the fastest moving planet. Don't be surprised to see some rapid changing of ideas coming from the people around you. This will be especially noticeable in the workplace. Think you know what side of the fence someone's on? Don't be too sure because it could change quickly.

Venus, everyone's favorite planet of love, will be in Cancer until the 28th of August when it moves into Leo. Venus in Cancer brings out feelings of romance and beauty. Marriages during this time will be especially strong and secure. Domestic life is important to natives with this aspect, and many will find themselves at home with a movie and a loved one rather than spending a night on the town. Venus in Leo is strong and active. New relationships are likely for those who are singl,e and a dash of exciting energy could find its way into older relationships.

Mars is in Sagittarius until September 9th when it moves into Capricorn. This is fiery energy with a focus on physical activity and spiritual ideas. Mars in Capricorn is exalted. During this time energy is more likely to be used in highly effective ways. Efficiency is the catch phrase here. For businesses or companies in need of reorganization, this is the key time to pursue changes.

Discipline and self control are important during this period. Parents should take care not to push their children too hard during these months.

Jupiter spends all of August and September in the sign of Cancer. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, and there is a strong focus on morals and the strength of families. Higher education and philosophy are also important aspects of Jupiter highlighted in this position. This is a good time to deal with matters involving housing and real estate. Because Jupiter in Cancer represents the strength of the home, people will travel less in this last half of the summer and concentrate more on their home and community.

Saturn continues its journey in Gemini throughout the next two months. Combined with Jupiter in Cancer, this will lead to a big focus on back-to-school activities. Those who have been putting off going back to college should stop procrastinating and use the energy of this time to follow through with those dreams.

Uranus and Neptune both continue to retrograde in the sign of Aquarius through August and September. This adds a restless undercurrent to the relative peace of these months. Many people will find that their inner selves are still off balance and grasping for answers. The organized and focused energies of the other planets will help to calm this uneasy feeling. This is a time to process the answers that are before you and utilize the information to set your future course.

Pluto is retrograde in Sagittarius for a portion of August but on the 22nd it goes direct. When Pluto was last direct, tensions in the Middle East increased and Earth changes became more active in the form of several quakes. When it goes direct this August, we once again have the potential for some larger-scale quakes. Both the West coast of the U.S. and Mexico are at risk. We should all direct light toward this portion of the world. Since law and philosophy fall in the realm of Sagittarius, we may also find these to be important issues going into the fall months. Pluto in Sagittarius also brings a focus on religions and spiritual leaders. It is also likely we'll see some major changes and activity in government and large corporations.

This is a powerful time to focus yourself and solidify your ideas. Utilize your abilities and you'll find that the future is before you. Take your destiny in hand and enjoy!
