If you’ve ever desired to reach across the ocean and lovingly help someone transform her life, Women for Women International leads the way. For about $27 a month for a year, you can help a woman in a war-torn country change her life through Women for Women International’s year-long program of education and support. They work with women who may have lost everything in conflict and often have nowhere else to turn. Those who participate in their one-year program transform from victim to survivor to active citizen. As we learn more about global warming and the role we play, it is becoming increasingly important to do our part at home. Earth911.org assists you in finding recycling resources close to home. It provides comprehensive information and recycling locations for all 50 states plus Washington, D.C. as well as for many other countries. Earth911.org provides useful tips, such as how to store paint properly or how to properly dispose of products containing mercury (like CFLs).
