This is a truly beautiful, exquisite book. The cover is a soft teal color in the background with an open lotus in the foreground that entices you to explore further. As you read the passages you can actually feel Lang's desire to assist you in setting yourself free from all the self-doubt and self-flagellation that comes from choosing the separation, isolation, and fear that cloud your perceptions of your authentic self. Lang states that "…you are naturally and inherently good. There are no exceptions. You are not the one exception." You are good, worthy, loved, and loving. But you have to be able to reach beyond the delusions to know whom and where you truly are! Meditation is the path to your awakened, inner knowing. Lang takes a unique positive approach to the ego and thought generation that plagues many when first beginning to practice the art of meditation. Even before I listened to the CD that accompanies this book, I sensed the calm, sincere, soul soothing spirit behind the writing. Lang's voice is soft, pleasant and well modulated as she introduces why everyone can benefit from meditation, leads a guided meditation practice and a practice for going deeper for a special tune-up! Written and recorded with the novice in mind, the well experienced student will find it an excellent reference for teaching. Just breathe.
Hiring the Heavens: A Practical Guide to Developing Working Relationships with the Spirits of Creation
Jean Slatter, 2005
New World Library
Novato, CA
If your life was viewed as an organizational chart, would you have all the boxes filled in with the top notch personnel for that division? You are the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of your life and, therefore, have the divine directive to run your reality with the best consultants available. Jean Slatter has written a paradigm that is simple and easy to relate to your experience with the down to earth world of work! The basic shift in perception relates directly to our experience of the Divine. In Hiring the Heavens, the move from the Divine without to the Divine within is elucidated in a series of paradigm shifts that are universal. Although the perception of the resources in our lives - time, money, energy - often feels limited, Slatter allows us to shift that perception to the fact that the unlimited resources of the Universe are ever at our disposable. We can "hire" all the help we can imagine! Designing your own life organizational chart with every department that you can conceive is a joyful exercise in creativity and a telling picture of how often you have opportunities to call upon the angles, spirits, and guides that are only a thought away. To seal the concept of hiring the heavens to assist in every aspect of your brilliant life, Slatter has designed an Angel Express Card included with the book that has no credit limit and is accepted everywhere! Not only can you hire the consultants you desire and need but she even includes a couple of extra cards to share with your friends and loved ones!
Same Soul, Many Bodies - Discover the Healing Power of Future Lives Through Progression Therapy
Brian L. Weiss, MD, 2004
Free Press/Simon & Schuster, Inc.
NY
Dr. Brian L. Weiss, a pioneer in regressive therapy, now presents us with the remarkable healing power of progressive therapy. In regressive therapy, a patient is led into a state of deep relaxation with full awareness and control in order to examine what may have happened in a previous life or earlier in this life. This exploration of the past often leads to the healing of physical, emotional, and/or spiritual dis-ease. As several patients began to spontaneously move forward in time rather than backward, Weiss began to see the astonishing possibilities for deep healing when a patient could see where the lessons of this life time and others was leading. Same Soul, Many Bodies is clearly written and includes many of Dr. Weiss' case studies. I believe that we all need to understand the worth of what we do and why things happen in our lives as they do. Brian Weiss offers us a way to access that potential.
Gift of the Dreamtime: Awakening to the Divinity of Trauma
S. Kelley Harrell, 2004
Spilled Candy Publications,
Niceville, FL
Kelley Harrell draws you into the dreamtime as an expert novelist draws you into a great novel. However, Harrell's writing first takes you to a raw place in which you experience her being sexually abused as though you are floating overhead, frustrated and angry that you can do nothing to prevent this from happening to this small child. Then you realize that you are in the dreamtime with Harrell finally learning to reconnect to those parts of your soul that you have sent away and beginning the healing of the physical and emotional wrecks of your life. Although we travel the shamanic journey with Harrell through her own story, it is our story also. Regardless of the pain experienced, Harrell's purpose is to teach us that the child within can be healed. Finally, you are surrounded by moonbeams and touched by the Goddess that has always been with you, loving you, guiding you because it is her desire to do so. After the journey ends, Harrell shares with you her experiences and knowledge of the world beyond the veil from the time she was very young. She also offers some preparatory exercises for taking your own shamanic journey with guided meditations that she has written. There is no doubt that Kelley Harrell is a holy woman and that all who are privileged to be touched by her through her healing practice and through her writing cannot come away unchanged.
