April/May 2007
The above quote from martial arts legend Bruce Lee is a fitting phrase to remember over the course of April and May. It is a simple yet complex statement. The power of water is amazing. It can be soft and yielding, impossible to hold, yet it can be as hard as stone. Bruce’s statement calls on us to utilize our awareness and determine which degree of water we need in any given situation. The spring months bring various dynamics that require you to determine the appropriate energy to respond with. I encourage you, in water-like fashion, to flow through these months and allow the benefits of spring to wash over your life.
The Direct Influence
Spring fever continues through the months of April and May. Utilize this energy well and you will find a great sense of clarity and freedom. Venus journeys through Taurus, Gemini and Cancer during this two-month period. You’ll find this a good time to cultivate romantic involvements as well as business relationships.
New romantic connections will experience an excellent time to explore a deeper bond. Spiritual compatibility takes a high priority so take the time to learn more about your partner’s personal journey. Where can you go and grow together? The answer becomes obvious at this time.
Opportunities for financial gain abound in early April and the later half of May. Pay attention to creative projects that present themselves. Prosperity can grow through artistic ideas and endeavors. If you have ever thought of starting a home-based business, May is a good time to lay the foundation.
Mars is in Pisces from April 7 through May 15. This is a rather difficult placement with the active fire of Mars rubbing the nervous energy of Pisces the wrong way. Take care when pursuing physical activity at this time since there is a greater risk of injury. Expect another burst of “spring fever” as Mars moves forward and into the sign of Aries on the 16th of May. This is a great time to tackle projects that you’ve put off or to begin a new course of physical conditioning. Mars is at home in Aries so there is a high potential to accomplish more using this dynamic energy.
Uranus in Pisces is associated with ideology. New groups with spiritual or social ideas thrive under this energy. Becoming involved with a grand cause and pursuing goals associated with a group consciousness become the norm. Much of this group energy can be restrictive, so be careful what circles you become involved with through this year.
Uranus in Pisces creates a strong undercurrent that continues to play out over a period of time. The victim-victimizer theme is often present in various scenarios around us. Take stock of your own involvement in such exchanges. The potential for spiritual growth is strong but only occurs once you are able to step away and understand the greater implications of your circumstances. Understanding the role you play in such dramas will empower you to move beyond the need to continue to repeat the same pattern.
Neptune is currently in Aquarius and on the 25th of May it will turn retrograde. Memorial Day weekend will not be the greatest time to travel under this influence. Retrograde Neptune will create some psychic static so be aware that your intuitions may seem fuzzy. This is a good time to stay close to home and work on personal healing issues.
The Global Outlook
Heavy hitter Saturn has been retrograde in Leo and on the 19th of April it will go direct. The political scene will heat up a bit with the war in the Middle East and the U.S. economy being the main focus. We will see more personalities attempting to force themselves to center stage hoping to catch the public’s attention. Since an election year approaches, promises and sound bytes will flow freely. It is more important than ever to look beyond the words and find the motivation behind the speakers. Valid solutions to our country’s problems are not very clear during these months.
Planetary giant Jupiter is currently in Sagittarius and, on April 6, it turns retrograde. This backward movement will slow the economy and also have an effect on foreign policy. Tensions in Iraq will continue to build, and there is another strong push for greater military involvement. Throwing more might at the problem will be presented as the solution yet it will create more difficulties. Pluto, moving retrograde in Sagittarius compounds the problems on foreign soil. Prayers for peace should be a high priority in May.
Weather patterns continue to break the boundaries of the past. Be aware that the possibility of volcanic activity is high in the month of May. Areas to watch are Central America and Southeast Asia. Earthquake activity is also a danger in the pacific from late April through May.
