FENG SHUI FUNDAMENTALS with T. Raphael Simons

2005 in Chinese Astrology and Feng Shui

Chinese New Year is on February 9th this year. It is the year of Wood Rooster and 4 Wood Star. It tells us that Heaven and Earth are not interrelating and that human affairs are unstable and complicated with much coming and going, indecision, and the likelihood of poor decision making this year. East and West are in a precarious balance. The North, or calm endurance, inwardness, and patient, plodding perseverance, as symbolized by the turtle, or Black Warrior, is how you will find personal balance. This particular combination of signs comes up only once every 540 years, so enjoy it while it lasts.

On a large scale, new and innovative ideas are needed now to avoid the slippery slope to disorder in world affairs and big business. Personal success this year depends on paying attention to details and in seeking the cooperation of others. Those in positions of authority and power can advance smoothly, but if they are too ambitious and aggressive, or resort to underhanded tactics, they will meet up with serious opposition and risk destroying themselves professionally. The year does not favor a dramatic rise to power. Be cautious in forming partnerships this year. What looks good now might look very bad in the future. A smart woman takes a stupid husband. A painful divorce will follow. Situations are not always what they seem. Use extreme caution and guard against miscalculations and misrepresentations. Insincerity will result in evil. Circumspection will result in satisfaction.

This is a good year for preparing means and gaining skills for coming opportunities. Self-reliance and initiative will eventually attract helpful people. Useful information interspersed with confusing news will flow this year. You will find the information you seek if you exercise calm wisdom. Look inside. While conditions are complicated this year, it will be to your benefit not to withdraw. Joining with others will benefit everyone. Persist in good actions and do what is blameless. In spite of difficulties, financial conditions stand a good chance of improving provided we all cooperate and work hard. The demands confronting everyone to keep plans moving will be stiff. There will be many complications and progress will seem difficult and slow.

The year tells us not to try to force our way, but to take one step at a time, cautiously, while relying on inner wisdom in face of outer confusion and discord. The year also warns us to take care of our health. There is an indication of serious illness coming into the world. Destructive stars for the year appear in the Northwest and Southeast, and the star of illness appears now in the East. To counteract the forces of these stars in your personal affairs, if the front door of your house faces either the Northwest, Southeast, or East, affix a BaGua mirror directly above the door, outside, facing out and in the direction of the culprit star.
